[OV]Christian Academy

The vision of [OV]Christian Academy is to glorify God by helping students fulfill their potential, both physically and spiritually, in a nurturing Christ-centered environment.  We strive to accomplish this through educational excellence and imparting the knowledge of the saving grace of Jesus Christ.

OVCA and [OV]Church meet in the same facility and work closely together to Love God, Love People and Make Disciples.

Last week's sermon

Are you worth your salt? Jesus' teachings came as lightning bolts to His followers. Not one to mince words, He told his followers to be worth their salt, and not to shrink back and dim their light when surrounded by darkness. Jesus is giving neither suggestions nor commands, but rather identity to brand new believers. He challenges them to be worth their salt as they live out their new lives in His Kingdom. In today's world, full of darkness and brokenness, how can we be worth our salt and shine our lights for Jesus? Join us as we explore Jesus' words together, Sunday at 9:09 and 11:11am. #OVChurch #SermonOnTheMount

Worship Gathering

Everything we do when we gather as the body of Christ is worship. A typical Sunday morning service begins with 20-30 minutes of corporate singing. Other worship elements include prayer, the public reading of Scripture, mutual encouragement and fellowship, celebration of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper, and the preaching and teaching of God’s Word.

When we worship by singing, you will notice that we employ both traditional hymns and more contemporary songs. There is also a great measure of freedom in the way people express their love for God and gratitude for all he has done. Some will sit quietly and meditate. Most will stand and sing every song. Quite a few will raise their hands, while others will keep them at their side. In any and every case, regardless of the mood or atmosphere of the service, our aim is to glorify God by enjoying him and all that he is for us in Jesus.

Following this time of singing, most of the service is devoted to the preaching and teaching of God’s inspired Word. We believe in the importance of expositional preaching, that is to say, the passionate explanation and relevant application of Holy Scripture, verse by verse, book by book, with a very occasional topical study.
